Set up a series of tabletop actions that happen one after the other.

In Chain Reaction Table Top, each group gets a game board and a set of detailed idea cards that they talk about with the rest of their group. They talk to other teams about these ideas to make a plan for their whole device. Each team builds and tests a number of simple machines. They try again after putting the pieces back together. Next, they connect their series of simple machines to the next team's simple machines and work together to make sure the flow goes from one machine to the next. The grand finale is to set off the machine so that it goes through each of the simple machines. Like a Rube Goldberg machine, which is designed to do a simple task in a complicated and indirect way, the final action sets off a simple but amazing final action.

Learning Outcomes

To be successful and push the limits of creativity, the teams must share knowledge and resources and work together. Teams work together to come up with a shared vision and plan, which they then put into action by using their excellent project and resource management skills. Successful teams understand the task and the cards, figure out what resources they have, make a rough plan, evaluate their progress, and make changes to their plan as needed. During the testing stages, teams learn to keep going even when things get tough and to pay attention to the details as they strive for excellence. When Chain Reaction players win, it gives them a real sense of shared purpose and a memorable experience they can talk about later.

This kind of team building can be done at Truong Van Hoang in Vietnam, Singapore, Bali, Bangkok, or Budapest. If you want to learn more, send us an email at
